Mariusz Wirski

An experimental documentary that refers to a structure of image by an indirect usage of existing materials by a re-registration of the displayed image. Work basing on archive materials from the war and pre-war time Warsaw is processed with maintenance of author’s distance. The structural methods in use allow to modify time and space. The film’s basic theme is a question about possibility of creating modern vision of history and attempts of changing its course depending on individual interpretation.
Mariusz Wirski
A graduate of Polish Language and Literature Studies, PhD Student at the University of Gdansk, where he is working on doctoral dissertation on Film Studies. University Lecturer. He studied at the Gdansk Academy of Fine Arts. He completed film workshops at the Gdynia Film School. The author of animated, experimental and documentary films. Many of them e.g. Performance, Passerby, Past Perfect were presented at festivals in Poland (Gdynia Film Festival) but also in other countries (European Media Art Festival, Cologne One Minute Film Festival).
